FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT AREA DO YOU SERVE?

I currently serve the greater Denver Metro area in Colorado.

I'VE NEVER WORKED WITH A DESIGNED BEFORE, HOW DOES THIS WORK?

I’m so glad you asked! Below is a step by step sample of what my process looks like:

    • An initial design call (15-20 minute) phone conversation to discuss scope of work

    • A virtual meet and greet (45-60 minutes) to further talk about the scope of work, your home needs, and design process.

    • A consultation is scheduled at your home to view the space

    • You’ll receive a Welcome Guide complete with proposals and information to help in the decision making process

    • Upon acceptance, the agreement is signed and payment is submitted

    • Then the fun begins and I communicate the particulars of your project and the next steps tailored to your home design needs.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO WORK WITH A DESIGNER?

Great question it varies with each Designer. Some charge hourly while others are flat fees. I pride myself on being transparent so you’ll see my starting fees listed on the website for most services. Other larger services, such as full design, vary by number of rooms, square footage, and scope of the work. Therefore this number is likely to vary by project so a custom quote is provided before you sign. To begin a quote contact us to schedule your discovery call today.

HOW LONG DO PROJECTS TYPICALLY TAKE?

This depends on a variety of things from scope of work to be done, schedule constraints by the designer, turn around time, delays outside of our control, how quickly decisions are made and so many other things. I will be able to give you a better estimate at the time of consultation. If you have a time sensitive project, please inform your design team at the time of the first discovery phone call to ensure we can meet your needs.

WHO IS PART OF YOUR TEAM?

From my experience in the business most clients have come to me without having previously interviewed or hired a contractor. For this reason, I bring in my vetted team to support each design project. This can be a Contractor, Electrician, Painter, Flooring installer, etc to meet all of your project needs. They all have been vetted, have the proper licensure or certification, and have worked with me on previous projects to offer you the highest quality finish.

WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT THEN OTHER DESIGNERS

My home underwent a very extensive remodel so I am familiar with the pains and frustration that come with construction. Having this first hand account has helped me relate to clients. This experience has allowed me to not only understand what client's experience but to be a safe place for client's to express those frustrations and get an expert's opinion on what to expect during the process.

WHY IS AN INTIAL DESIGN CALL REQUIRED PRIOR TO A CONSULT

Most Interior Designers require an initial phone conversation to get a brief overview of what you're looking for to ensure we're the right fit for you. This call is approximately 15 minutes where we'll discuss your timeline, budget, explain our process with you and answer any questions you may have,

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A CONSULT?

An Interior Design Consult can sound scary, I know. Your house isn’t the condition you’d like it to be, a stranger is coming into your home, your head is spinning with questions to ask and things to remember to mention! Let's face it, if your home was in perfect condition, you wouldn't need an Interior Designer. I am here to help you!

To prepare, walk through your space and note the changes you would like to make. Also note things you would like to see incorporated.

Next, make Pinterest or Instagram your best friend. Create a separate board and pin away or screen shot items and save them to your phone. Look for wall colors, furniture, window treatments, artwork or room accessories that speak to you! We will discuss this pictures during our consultation and it will help me know what you like and your design style. I ask that you have at least 5-10 saved pictures.

Last, leave your space as it is! Don't clean up because it helps me see how you live and where we might need additional seating, organization, or storage!

That's it! Following these three steps will help our consultation run smoothly and stay on track!

CAN YOU INTEGRATE SOME OF MY EXISTING ITEMS INTO THE DESIGN?

Absolutely. If you have a favorite piece of furniture, accessory or something that holds sentimental value, please let us know at consultation or while filling out your questionnaire. This way I can ensure these items stay in the design plan and the design is coordinated around these valuables.

WHERE DO YOU GET FURNITURE FROM FOR FULL SERVICE DESIGNS?

I source products from a wide variety of places including online stores, wholesale companies, local stores, trade showrooms, and catalog retailers. Quality, durability, availability of items, and clients lifestyle are all taken into account when considering where to source products.

HOW DO YOU KEEP BUDGET IN MIND?

We discuss budget in the discovery call, at the home visit, during the scope of work presentation, and throughout the full service design to ensure expectations are being met. In short, we talk budget from start to finish.

WHAT IF I HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT MY DESIGN?

You get to approve your design and have several opportunities to provide feedback for full service designs and room designs that incorporate concept boards. I encourage an open and honest line of communication at all times and ask that you contact me immediately if you are not sure about anything along the way.
